OCEANO, CA. (March 5, 2024) - With a new operating model, an updated brand, and a combined drive to increase protection against geohazards, Access Limited Construction is announcing the launch of a new unified entity: Access Limited. By diversifying and strengthening the suite of services, Access Limited will have more crews, a broader reach, and unmatched solutions suitable for any rockfall or steep slope challenge.
In 2023, Access Limited Construction was acquired by GeoStabilization International and today, joins forces with Dyer All-Terrain Excavation, HI-TECH Rockfall Construction, GSI Rockfall, and GeoBuild LLC. Combining these four industry leaders under one united entity brings a synergy of different skills and experiences to customers, further enhancing specialized services for geohazard mitigation. As Access Limited, the team provides a comprehensive, value-based portfolio of difficult access drilling, rockfall, and steep slope solutions in addition to services for customers requiring union labor across the United States.
"Access Limited was created at the intersection of expertise and innovation, with a shared passion for testing the boundaries of the terrain to keep the public safe," said Brian McNeal, Vice President of Service Delivery at Access Limited. "With more than 100 years of combined experience tackling complex projects, we are poised to transform the industry while maintaining a steady commitment to quality, value, and customer experience."
Access Limited is the leading provider of rockfall mitigation and steep slope stabilization in the United States, with the largest fleet of spider excavators in North America. The team of more than 700 geologists, geotechnical engineers, equipment operators, and rockfall technicians are strategically decentralized, allowing for regional expertise and rapid response to emergency sites.
The Access Limited team recently completed a safety upgrade on the highly traveled US 340 in West Virginia. Work included stabilizing the corridor through rockfall scaling, removal of rockfall hazards, and localized rock bolting. The crews also repaired pavement and guardrails that were damaged from falling rock and installed draped mesh and pinned mesh, ground-level rockfall barriers, and on-slope rockfall attenuator systems to reduce future rockfall events and safely catch any rocks that may fall.
"This project is a great example of the newly formed Access Limited team working together to provide optimal services and solutions for a safer US 340," said Brian McNeal, Vice President of Service Delivery at Access Limited. "The crew completed the rockfall project nearly two weeks earlier than planned despite increased scope, contributing to a reduction of 770 tons of carbon emissions from diverted traffic. A true testament of faster, greener, safer."
