GROUND IMPROVEMENT SOLUTIONS

What is Grouting?

Grouting is an essential ground improvement technique that can considerably enhance soil strength and stability. It involves the injection of cementitious or chemical grout into the soil to fill voids, compact the ground, and mitigate soil settlement. At GeoStabilization International, we specialize in a range of techniques, including compaction, slurry, permeation, and chemical grouting. Our team of experts has over 20 years of experience in the field and can provide customized solutions to meet your specific needs. Keep reading to learn more about our techniques and how they can improve your soil’s strength and stability.

Improve Your Soil Strength with Our Grouting Techniques

Improve the strength and stability of your soil with our range of techniques, including compaction, slurry, permeation, and chemical grouting.

Compaction Grouting

Compaction Grouting is a ground improvement technique that uses a high-pressure injection of low-mobility cementitious grout to displace and compact soil. Resulting in a series of very stiff, bulbous grout columns surrounded by the soil of increased density. It is commonly used for the repair of sinkholes, improving soil under new or existing structures, mitigation of liquefaction, and settlement control.

Slurry Grouting

Slurry Grouting is a technique that involves the injection of neat cement grout mixed at various proportions into open-graded overburdened soils such as clean gravel or bedrock. This technique improves the in-situ material’s characteristics during temporary or permanent excavations or around existing below-ground infrastructure. It also reduces water seepage, underpins structures, and enhances the soil’s load-carrying abilities.

Permeation Grouting

Permeation Grouting uses microfine cement to permeate cracks and fissures in the soil, producing a solidified mass to support increased loads and fill voids in the ground. It is used to control water seepage, provide temporary and permanent underpinning of existing foundations, improve the bearing capacity of soils under existing foundations, and excavation shoring.

Chemical Grouting

Chemical Grouting utilizes chemical substances to improve soil structure and water control. Structural chemical grout is used in granular soils to bind soil particles together and improve the soil’s bearing capacity. It is also used to repair fractures in concrete and rock. Chemical grout can stop water movement in granular soil or rock when injected under pressure, forming a waterproof mass at the injection point.

Transformative Project for Homeowner in Minnesota

Just wanted to say that somehow your workers/artists took an ugly and scarred piece of this earth and turned it into a very pleasing and contoured piece of this earth. It looks incredible!! The fellows were all so nice and just wonderful to us. They worked so hard and were always hear early…….no goofing off…. just working. My husband suffered a traumatic brain injury in early 2012 and it has been a rough couple of years. He is almost completely healed. There were many tears and a lot of frustration. Seeing this project and the amazing workmanship put into it has really put a smile on our face. We thank your fathers for getting this company up and running. We thank you and Tim for keeping it running. Your company made a difference in our life and one we will not soon forget. It is easy to say thanks…it is hard to put into words.... but know that our thank you comes from the heart!!!

Foundation Grouting and Structural Repair for Homeowner

I wanted to drop you a quick note. Late last year I had Tom Szynakiewicz come by and advise me as to what I needed to do to fix my house structure. Tom and GSI were great to work with to find a solution for my structure issues. GSI did an excellent job for us and got us on the right track with the work that was performed. We just sold the home last week, and disclosed the work that was done. We had zero issues with selling the home because it was fixed by GSI. I am very thankful I called and got you guys involved! Thanks again for steering me in the right direction Wayne!
