In early January, every Geostabilization International employee across North America participated in a company-wide Safety Stand Up. Employees were gathered in groups throughout the United States and Canada where crew leaders, employees, and senior leadership spent the day together reinforcing GeoStabilization’s safety culture. To ensure uniformity throughout the company, a standardized agenda was utilized to instruct on training topics that included:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Motor Vehicles, Equipment, and Signs
Signals and Barricades
Fall Protection
Emergency Action Planing
Fire Protection
Hazard Communication
Hand and Power Tools
Electrical
Welding and Cutting
Lockout/Tagout
Abrasive Blasting and High Pressure Water Cleaning
Concrete and Shotcrete
Cranes
Ladders and Stairways
Material Handling and Rigging
No preventable accident is acceptable in the GSI family. Coming on the company’s first day back from the holiday break, our Safety Stand Up will help us to ensure our safety metrics remain superior to the industry averages. On Thursday morning, January 5, GeoStabilization became an even better company; prepared to serve our customer’s needs in 2017.
