GeoStabilization International Strengthens Team with New Leadership Hires

GeoStabilization International, the leading geohazard mitigation team in North America, welcomes four new hires in key company roles: Ricardo Garcia as Chief Estimator; George Markert as Director of Operations; Simon Boone as Director of Engineering; and Daniela Borja as Senior Director of Sales Excellence and Operations.

Team additions:
As Chief Estimator, Ricardo Garcia oversees project analysis, cost estimation, bid preparation, risk assessment, vendor and subcontractor relations for GeoStabilization. Garcia brings more than two decades of experience working in the construction industry and is skilled in construction management, value engineering, and cost management. Before joining the team, he held roles at Ralph L Wadsworth Construction Company, Graham, and Skanska, among others. He is a strong operations professional with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.

As Director of Operations - East, George Markert oversees field operations for roughly half of GeoStabilization's non-union soil stabilization services for North America. In this role, he provides the operations team strategic leadership and tactical direction to create sustainable competitive advantage through best-in-class execution across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and talent acquisition/development. As a Marine Corps veteran, Markert brings a wealth of experience to the team. He conducted logistics and engineering operations in more than 40 countries throughout his career and built a 4,000-person base camp in the Middle East after 9/11. He also oversaw the Marine Corps' largest fleets of trucks and heavy equipment while training every vehicle and heavy equipment operator and mechanic in the Service.

As Director of Engineering, Simon Boone, P.G. leads GeoStabilization's engineering teams across the United States. Boone works closely with teams in this role to design and construct innovative, economically viable customer solutions. Before joining the team, he spent nearly six years working as a project manager for Access Limited Construction, a company GeoStabilization acquired in early 2023. He also brings a wealth of geotechnical experience to the team with a background in geology. As a geologist, he held positions at Yeh and Associates and KANE GeoTech, Inc.

As Senior Director of Sales Excellence and Operations, Daniela Borja spearheads growth by actively enhancing the sales teams' performance. Her responsibilities include building the sales operations function by implementing commercial best practices, streamlining operations, optimizing data analytics, and improving talent management. Borja has a proven track record of transforming operations, cultivating new revenue streams, and building relationships. Before her role at GeoStabilization, she held leadership roles in business operations and strategy at Accelerate Growth LLC and Plume.
