GeoStabilization International® provided a slope stabilization solution during the construction of New State Route 48 near Lawrenceburg, Indiana. While excavating nearby slopes, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) encountered a zone of weak lacustrine clay deposits, which caused a series of shallow landslides that rippled from the toe (base) to the top of the slope.
GeoStabilization International® designed and installed a mechanical buttress at the slope’s toe and completed minor filling behind it to prevent future slope failures. INDOT appreciated this cost-effective solution that focused on stabilizing the toe of the slide. This project continues to hold strong in the years since its completion.
Do you need a slope stabilization solution to protect a transportation project or repair a road following a landslide? The crews at GeoStabilization International® have the equipment and slope stabilization expertise to ensure a timely and effective slope repair or preventative project.
The team uses a variety of slope stabilization methods for landslide repair and remediation. Engineers and other experts combine state-of-the-art technology with industry experience to assess slope stability and provide cost-effective solutions for lasting peace of mind.
The advantages of working with GeoStabilization International® include the following:
GeoStabilization International® crews provide fast emergency response when slope destabilization and landslides put the public in danger. GeoStabilization International® can offer a fast and effective slope stabilization solution whether you need emergency service after a geohazard event or want to develop a preventative maintenance plan for a vulnerable hillside.
In addition to mechanical buttresses, tiebacks, and other external slope stabilization methods, GeoStabilization International® utilizes proprietary equipment for internal stabilization techniques, such as creating a soil nail wall. The team installs soil nails using the Soil Nail Launcher™, which uses compressed air for superior installation. Soil nails installed using this method boast ten times the pullout capacity of those installed using other methods.
GeoStabilization International® completes various slope stabilization projects, including compaction grouting, retaining walls, mechanical buttresses, and more.
