A Midwestern Department of Transportation contacted GeoStabilization International® about a series of landslides that developed on the slopes near a bridge over a railroad grade. Due to access restrictions, conventional repair methods would not have been feasible. GeoStabilization provided a design solution through its Supernail™ services in which a series of SuperNails™, faced with reinforced shotcrete were launched. These launched nails coupled with a Launched Horizontal Drain array prevented further landslide movement with no interruption to either bridge or railroad traffic.
