Geotechnical Construction

Construction is where GSI’s work comes to life. Our crews travel across the country tackling complex geotechnical challenges, stabilizing slopes, protecting infrastructure, and helping keep communities safe. Whether you’re starting a hands-on career or bringing years of construction experience, there are multiple paths to build specialized skills and grow into leadership.

"The way that GSI has always treated us - they care more about the guys in the field.
They respect my work ethic to allow me to constantly move up the ranks."

Entry-Level Field Construction

Many GSI field leaders started with little or no experience in geotechnical construction. What matters most is a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Entry-level team members receive hands-on training on real projects, building the skills needed to grow into experienced roles and future leadership positions.

“I always have a job at GSI… It’s constantly continuing. And they care about you as a person. If something is going on at home, they let me go take care of it.”

Superintendents

Superintendents coordinate crews, equipment, and project plans to ensure projects are completed safely and successfully. This role is ideal for experienced construction leaders who enjoy:

  • Leading teams in the field

  • Solving complex challenges

  • Taking ownership of project success

“However fast you want to learn… you can grow and it’s all on you. When my crew saw me jumping from Level 3 to Level 4 to Level 5 and now becoming their Superintendent, I felt proud of that. Without my leaders teaching me, I'm not the man you guys know now.”
