NOTE: We cannot offer visa sponsorship for this role. You must be eligible to work for any US employer to be considered.
GeoStabilization International is seeking a Senior Business Analyst who operates at the intersection of ERP architecture, advanced analytics, and executive decision-making. This individual will directly shape how leadership understands cost, risk, margin, productivity, and execution performance across complex construction operations.
You will work below the UI layer, directly inside ERP back-end tables (Trimble Viewpoint Vista preferred), translating raw transactional data into clear, defensible, decision-grade insight. Success in this role is defined by trust, accuracy, and impact—not by volume of reports produced.
What You Will Own
ERP & Data Architecture Ownership
- Directly access, navigate, and query ERP back-end tables to extract raw financial, job cost, labor, equipment, and payroll data
- Develop a deep working mastery of Vista’s table structure, joins, and data dependencies
- Serve as a trusted internal authority on what the data actually means, not just how it looks
Advanced Analytics & Data Science
- Apply statistical modeling, forecasting, and predictive analytics to:
- Project margin and cost-to-complete risk
- Identify labor productivity and equipment utilization trends
- Surface early indicators of project or portfolio underperformance
- Build models that leadership can act on, not academic exercises
Executive-Level Ad Hoc Analysis
- Rapidly synthesize data from multiple systems and imperfect sources
- Answer ambiguous, high-stakes questions with incomplete information
- Deliver conclusions that withstand scrutiny from Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership
Reporting & Automation Discipline
- Design and maintain a small, high-impact suite of standardized reports
- Ensure 100% reconciliation to ERP source-of-truth
- Automate delivery while preserving traceability and audit confidence
Advanced Excel as a Strategic Tool
- Build robust, intuitive Excel models using:
- Power Query
- Power Pivot
- Advanced formulas and structured data models
- Translate complexity into tools leaders actually use—not spreadsheets that break
What “Great” Looks Like at GSI
- Executives trust your numbers without rechecking them
- Operational leaders change behavior because of your analysis
- You proactively surface risks before they show up in financials
- You design solutions that scale, not one-off hero work
- You demonstrate judgment about what matters as much as what’s possible
Required Experience & Technical Foundation
- ERP Systems: deep experience with Trimble Viewpoint Vista strongly preferred; must demonstrate ERP back-end fluency
- Data Access: advanced SQL across complex relational schemas
- Data Science: Python or R for statistical modeling and predictive analysis
- Visualization: Power BI or Tableau connected directly to ERP data
- Excel: Expert-level skills including complex models, automation, structured logic
- Experience: 5+ years in highly technical BA / analytics roles, preferably construction, engineering, or asset-heavy industries
Core Competencies We Screen For
- Intellectual Sharpness: Rapid comprehension of unfamiliar systems and datasets
- Analytical Rigor: Precision, reconciliation discipline, and defensible logic
- Judgment Under Pressure: Clear thinking when data is incomplete or messy
- Executive Communication: Translating complex analysis into decisive guidance
- Ownership Mentality: You act like the data is yours—because it is
