Build the Infrastructure That Protects Communities

Build Your Career in Field Operations

At GSI, our work happens in the field. Small crews travel across the country solving complex geotechnical challenges, stabilizing slopes, protecting infrastructure, and responding when communities need help.

Every project depends on the people doing the work on the ground. Across our business, more than 100 crews are operating every day, installing soil nails, scaling rock, drilling anchors, and building stabilization systems that keep roads, railways, and communities safe.

Field Operations is where careers are built. Whether you’re an experienced construction professional or someone ready to start a hands-on career, there are multiple paths to grow, learn specialized skills, and take on more responsibility over time.

“I was excited to get to travel… Your office view every day is pretty amazing. I’ve seen a lot of the country, and I’ve saved so much more money because meals, hotels, and travel are all covered — even some clothing items like our boots and safety gear.”

Entry-Level Field Construction

Start a hands-on construction career and learn specialized skills.

Many of our field leaders started with little or no experience in geotechnical construction. What matters most is a willingness to work hard, learn quickly, and be part of a team. Entry-level field construction team members receive hands-on training while working on real projects, building the skills needed to grow into experienced roles and future leadership positions.

“I always have a job at GSI… It’s constantly continuing. And they care about you as a person. If something is going on at home, they let me go take care of it.”

If you have experience in construction, drilling, mining, heavy equipment operation, or similar trades, GSI offers the opportunity to apply and grow those skills in specialized geotechnical construction. Experienced field construction team members operate equipment, install stabilization systems, and play a key role in projects that protect infrastructure and communities.

“They trust you here. If something happens, the company will back you up. Upper management takes care of you — you get treated fairly. You have a voice, an opinion.”

Superintendents

Lead crews. Solve complex challenges. Deliver projects that protect communities.

Superintendents at GeoStabilization International (GSI) are responsible for bringing together crews, equipment, and project plans to get the job done safely and successfully. If you’re an experienced construction leader who thrives on responsibility, problem solving, and building strong teams, this role puts you at the center of the work.

“However fast you want to learn… you can grow and it’s all on you. When my crew saw me jumping from Level 3 to Level 4 to Level 5 and now becoming their Superintendent, I felt proud of that. Without my leaders teaching me, I'm not the man you guys know now.”
