What Is RailJET®?
RailJET® is a modified jet-grouting process that stabilizes railroad subgrades by mixing in-situ soil with a cementitious slurry. Using high-pressure horizontal fluid jets, the system forms soil-cement columns beneath the track structure.
Mounted on a Hi-Rail platform, RailJET® can be deployed directly from the track without supplemental rail equipment. This allows crews to operate efficiently within restricted work windows and in locations where traditional excavation would be disruptive or impractical.
The resulting soil-cement columns, typically 8 to 16 inches in diameter depending on subsurface conditions, reinforce the subgrade in both bearing and shear. The process also fills ballast pockets, improving load distribution and track uniformity.
