Superintendents

Ready for Your Best Career Move?

Become a Superintendent at GSI

If you’ve been in construction long enough, you know every day throws new challenges at you, and your job is to bend all of these into success. Project after project.

You lead.

You set the standard.

You help people grow.

Our projects are mostly smaller crews, working independently and getting things done.  Nothing else the company does is as important. No money gets made unless a lot of crews (more than 100 of them across our business!) are doing the work on the ground the right way, day in and day out.

Leading that work is different when you work for a company that understands that. Where your experience is counted on. Your decisions matter. The company puts the right equipment and supplies in your hands and helps you build the people you lead into more qualified, safer, experienced crews.

Let’s Build Together

GSI ensure client best value core value with crew

"It just feels good to work here. I like the trust that you get. If you make a decision about something, then you forward that information – the people around you trust your decision making.”

You’re More Than a Crew Leader

GSI depends on our leaders to bring a plan, a customer, and a work team together to solve the problem, no matter what. We’re looking for people who can collaborate effectively, solve problems on the fly, and lead others to succeed. Every employee here owns an equity stake in the growth of the company, so we only hire people capable of leading.

"You're not just a Superintendent - you are a part of the engineering team, the project management team, the transportation team - you feel a part of it at every step of the process.  I'm actually an owner here, and I feel like it."

We’ve Got Your Back

Superintendents here will tell you they stay because GSI trusts them to run the job. You have the freedom to make calls without someone breathing down your neck. When something comes up, you have real support from project managers, engineers, and peers to help you sort things out.

“Knowing that the company’s got your back… and knowing that if you made a decision and you’re standing on it, they’re going to support the decision that you make.”

Careers built on safety, teamwork, and real-world impact.

We’re Doing Work that Matters

At GSI, you’re not just building projects, you’re protecting communities. The work you lead keeps roads open, homes safe, and people out of harm’s way. Whether it’s rockfall mitigation, slope stabilization, landslide repair, or emergency response, every job makes a real difference.

“It's not just building a garage, not just building an office. It makes a difference, helps communities, and that's what I like about being here.”

We’ll Support the Rest of Your Life

Working away from home is exciting, rewarding, and can make you a lot of money. But it’s tough on people and families. We want great Superintendents to stay with us for a long time, and we have roles you can grow into when you’re ready.

In the meantime, we will help you take care of your family with great benefits, pay, and time off. When you need to be home, you’ll be home.

“I chose it because the operations leaders care about getting you home to your family. I went to a different company – they were talking about days off, but there weren’t a lot of days off, so I came right back to GSI.”

Learning and Growing Together

At GSI, we’re doing work that’s very unique and challenging. Not many people start out in geotechnical construction, so people who make a career out of it are learners. We hire those people – the curious ones, the ‘jump in and learn it’ workers, the ones eager to move up.

You get to lead those, to help them grow, and see them succeed.

“I love being able to sit back and watch what my guys have learned over the past year. There’s a lot to learn – different aspects of all the things we do, the machinery, the techniques – it’s awesome when they learn enough to come out here and lay out one of these walls, or run the drill, shoot shotcrete, finish walls.”
