RoadGuard | Colorado Springs, CO
$20–$22/hour | Weekly Pay | Full-Time | Travel Required
RoadGuard is hiring Traveling Guardrail Installation Technicians to join our Colorado Springs team. This is a hands-on construction role where you'll work with a crew installing and maintaining highway guardrails, barriers, fencing, and other roadway safety equipment.
We're looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who enjoy working outdoors, aren't afraid of physical work, and are willing to learn.
Candidates with a construction background are strongly preferred. Experience in general construction, highway construction, concrete, landscaping, fencing, or other outdoor labor positions would be a great fit.
This is a traveling position, so you must be comfortable working away from home during the week.
Work with a crew to install, remove, repair, and modify highway guardrails, barriers, fencing, and other roadway safety equipment.
Perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing materials and equipment.
Follow instructions from your Foreman and help keep projects moving.
Take initiative and help your crew wherever needed.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Show up on time, ready to work, and contribute to the team.
Travel is a regular part of this position, not an occasional requirement.
For projects within Colorado, crews are typically away from home for one week at a time.
For projects outside Colorado, employees may be away for up to two weeks at a time.
Company-provided hotel accommodations are available while traveling for work.
Work is performed outdoors at different project locations.
Candidates must be comfortable with travel, changing schedules, and working in different weather conditions.
Must be at least 21 years old.
High school diploma or GED.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Must be willing and able to obtain a DOT medical card to qualify to drive crew transportation vehicles.
Must pass required pre-employment background, drug screening, and motor vehicle record checks.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English and perform basic math.
Ability to perform strenuous physical work throughout the day in varying weather conditions.
Willingness to travel and stay away from home for up to two weeks when needed.
Strong attendance, dependability, and willingness to learn.
Ability to work well with a crew and take initiative without always being asked.
Previous construction experience is strongly preferred, especially in highway construction, general labor, concrete, fencing, excavation, or other physically demanding outdoor work.
All new hires go through a 30-day probationary period.
During your first 30 days, your Foreman will be evaluating:
Attendance: Showing up consistently, on time, and ready to work.
Work ethic: Being willing to work hard and help get the job done.
Willingness to learn: Taking direction, asking questions, and being open to learning new skills.
Initiative and teamwork: Jumping in to help your crew without always needing to be asked.
We want employees who take pride in their work and want to be part of a team. If performance, attendance, or work ethic expectations aren't being met during the probationary period, employment may be ended.
Employees who demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and a willingness to learn may have opportunities to attend truck driver training and advance into Driver, Equipment Operator, or Foreman positions.
