About the Role

At GeoStabilization International, our crews depend on having the right equipment to get their work done. We’re looking for an Equipment & Asset Manager who can evaluate what the business needs, understand the financial impact, and make sound decisions about buying, renting, moving, and replacing assets.

You’ll ask questions like: Why do we need another excavator? Could we move one from another location? Does renting make more sense for this project? What will ownership, maintenance, and transportation cost over time?

Our fleet includes industrial drills, excavators, trucks, concrete pumps, grout plants, and attachments. You don’t need experience with every equipment type, but you do need strong judgment, financial understanding, and an interest in learning how our crews use these assets.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with project and field leaders to understand equipment needs, timing, and job requirements.

  • Evaluate whether to buy, lease, rent, repair, transfer, or dispose of equipment based on cost, condition, utilization, and business demand.

  • Build financial comparisons that account for purchase price, maintenance, transportation, downtime, and resale value.

  • Review equipment availability across locations and find opportunities to share resources before adding assets.

  • Support project costing by providing equipment rates, availability, and transportation estimates.

  • Track utilization and spending, identify underused assets, and recommend ways to improve efficiency.

  • Evaluate vendors, negotiate terms, and manage purchasing decisions through delivery.

  • Partner with maintenance and shop teams to understand equipment condition, repair needs, and replacement timing.

  • Coordinate with logistics and field teams to get equipment where it needs to be.

  • Maintain accurate asset records and communicate recommendations clearly to operations and leadership.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in asset management, strategic purchasing, fleet management, financial analysis, or a related operational role.

  • Experience evaluating business needs and recommending purchases or investments—not solely processing orders.

  • Ability to explain why an asset is needed, compare alternatives, and connect the decision to cost and operational value.

  • Experience with budgeting, project costing, utilization analysis, or lifecycle cost comparisons.

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort using Excel and business systems to support decisions.

  • Ability to balance competing needs across projects or locations.

  • Clear communication and confidence working with field crews, mechanics, vendors, and company leaders.

  • Willingness to spend time in yards, shops, and active project environments to understand how equipment is used.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations as needed.

Backgrounds That Could Be a Fit

Relevant experience may come from:

  • Construction or heavy equipment asset management.

  • Vehicle, truck, automotive, or equipment rental fleets.

  • Purchasing roles with responsibility for evaluating needs, costs, and investment decisions.

  • Finance or operations roles supporting physical assets and project costs.

  • Corporate real estate or facilities asset management involving multiple locations, capital planning, and resource allocation.

Direct construction equipment experience is helpful, but we’re also interested in candidates who bring strong asset and financial judgment and are ready to learn the equipment.

How You’ll Work

This role works closely with the people using and maintaining our equipment. You should be comfortable walking a yard, talking through a problem with a mechanic, and understanding a crew’s needs before making a recommendation.

Success means putting resources where they’re needed, controlling costs, and helping crews stay productive.

Location and Travel

This position is based in Williamstown, KY, or an approved GSI hub. Candidates willing to relocate are encouraged to apply.

Travel to equipment yards and active job sites is required as needed, including walking on uneven terrain and working around construction equipment.

US pay range for this role.
