About the Role

This is not simply a steward of financial accuracy—it is a strategic thinker capable of scaling systems, developing people, and driving insight through operational data. This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of our finance operations, responsible for guiding the finance operations, owning accounting and financial operations, and partnering cross-functionally with leaders across the operations and corporate teams.

Rooted in our West Palm Beach office, this hire is crucial to supporting our division’s continued growth, including post-acquisition integrations, internal control maturation, and continuous margin-focused decision making. You will be the go-to financial resource for the Southeast Highway team on the ground and the key connection with our corporate financial leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take a hands-on role in project controls, project review, and related processes in close collaboration with local operations leaders.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Southeast Highway leadership team on leading and trending financial indicators to improve overall division performance.
  • Lead and continuously improve all core accounting functions in collaboration with our corporate finance leaderhsip: month-end close, GL management, audits, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Conduct and guide technical accounting research, documentation, and policy updates.
  • Oversee accounting execution for complex transaction cycles and key accounts.
  • Serve as a lead partner in the integration of acquired entities into the company’s financial systems.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and operational leaders on cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, margin tracking, and financial accuracy by project.
  • Support tax planning and compliance in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive automation and system improvements to streamline the month-end close process.
  • Prepare key reporting for executive decision making and board-level visibility.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in process and systems development.
  • Ability to travel occasionally within the Southeast region and to company headquarters.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep proficiency in Excel and comfort working with financial systems.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification.
  • Experience running a complete month-end close cycle.
  • Prior use of Computer Ease, Vista by Viewpoint or similar construction/project accounting platforms is a plus.
  • Background in public accounting or fast-scaling private companies.
  • Hands-on experience with M&A integration.
US pay range for this role.
