GeoStabilization International is hiring experienced crew leaders who want a clear path to becoming a Superintendent. You’ll continue working alongside the crew while developing the planning, safety, communication, and project-management skills needed to run geohazard mitigation projects independently.

This is not an entry-level position. We’re looking for proven field leaders from geohazard mitigation, heavy civil construction, drilling, slope stabilization, deep foundations, or similar work.

Your Path to Superintendent

The Superintendent in Training program lasts a minimum of six months and no longer than nine months. During the program, you’ll work under an experienced Superintendent while taking on increasing responsibility.

Your performance, leadership, safety, project execution, and readiness will be evaluated to determine whether you qualify to advance into a Superintendent role.

What You’ll Do

• Lead field crews and set clear daily expectations
• Plan labor, equipment, materials, and upcoming work
• Run the crew when the Superintendent is not onsite
• Keep work safe, productive, on schedule, and within project specifications
• Train and coach employees on proper field practices
• Read and apply project drawings, specifications, and mix designs
• Track production, labor hours, equipment usage, and project progress
• Complete safety plans, field logs, inspections, and closeout documentation
• Identify schedule, budget, material, and equipment issues before they affect the project
• Communicate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams
• Work alongside the crew when needed, including drilling, grouting, steel installation, shotcrete, and equipment operation

What You Need

• At least 2–3 years of experience in geohazard mitigation, heavy civil construction, drilling, slope stabilization, deep foundations, or similar fieldwork
• At least one year of experience leading or supervising a field crew
• A track record of holding crews accountable for safety, quality, and production
• Ability to read technical drawings and project specifications
• Valid Class A CDL
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
• Willingness to obtain required ACI Shotcrete and soil nail testing certifications
• Ability to travel approximately 70%, including possible travel to Canada
• Willingness to perform hands-on fieldwork while learning to manage projects

• Soil nails, strand anchors, micropiles, or GCS wall installation
• Drilling, grouting, shotcrete, or steel installation
• Operating skid steers, manlifts, forklifts, or similar equipment
• Coordinating crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
• Training and developing less-experienced crew members
• Managing daily reports, safety documentation, and field inspections

Compensation

• $34.00–$46.50 per hour, based on relevant experience
• 5% annual bonus opportunity
• Full-time, hourly position
• Clear six-to-nine-month development path toward a Superintendent role

Work and Travel

This is a traveling, hands-on field leadership role. You’ll work outdoors in changing climates and on uneven or sloped terrain. You must be able to operate tools and equipment, work around construction-site conditions, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
