John earned his B.S. in civil engineering at Iowa State University where he also earned his M.S. in civil engineering with a geotechnical concentration. After graduating, he worked for large construction and engineering consulting firms where John provided on-site support and engineering design for construction projects in throughout the United States and Canada. His experience comprises of serving as in-house geotechnical subject matter expert, developing and maintaining relationships with local contracting and engineering design partners, overseeing the CMGC process for projects providing technical guidance, design coordination, and owner collaboration, assessing design and construction geotechnical risks for projects, and preparing written reports of geotechnical findings and design recommendations for commercial, heavy civil, and transportation projects. In his free time, John enjoys his wife and two kids, working on his house, and woodworking.
