With over four (4) years of civil and geotechnical engineering experience, Damien is a registered professional engineer in Kentucky and Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geological engineering from the University of North Dakota and a Master of Science in geological engineering from the University of Wisconsin before beginning his engineering career. His experience includes a wide breadth of geotechnical engineering analysis and design including transportation, site civil design, dams & embankments, and CCR landfills.
Damien served on the ASCE Bluegrass Branch leadership team for 3 years as Volunteer Coordinator, Website/Social Media Director, and Vice-President. He has also been involved with the University of Kentucky’s ASCE Student Branch organizing career fairs for the students, prospective employer visits, and volunteering for Engineer’s Week outreach events.
The project site was located approximately 6km east of Hinton, Alberta on the north side of Highway 16. The project consisted of constructing two retaining walls to mitigate a surficial geohazard from impacting the safe day to day operation of an existing rail line. The rail line was operational and is integral to the material transport process.
