Trampas began working in the drilling, construction, & oil and gas industries at the age of ten when he started visiting drill rigs with his father during summer vacations and has been in the geotechnical drilling industry ever since. After completing high school and post-secondary education at the University of Calgary, Trampas joined an environmental drilling company and began his career on a drill rig. His thirty-year career encompasses roles as operations manager, safety manager, general manager, and owners of various geotechnical and environmental drilling companies. Trampas’ duties have included forecasting, budgeting, profit and loss, and safety. Active in Cubs Canada and a leader in summer youth camps, he lives with his wife and four children in Calgary.
