Matilde graduated from the University of Padua, Italy, where she earned a M.Sc. in Geology which was completed with a dissertation in Rock Mechanics. She began her career working at geotechnical consulting firms where she specialized in numerical modeling for rockfall mitigation. Over the years, Matilde expanded her experience to include various aspects of construction site administration and project management. At GeoStabilization, we will utilize her engineering and extensive project management skills on her assigned assignments.
Born and raised in Venas di Cadore, a small village on the Italian Dolomites, Matilde moved to Canada in 2013 and now calls Banff, Alberta home. When she is not working, Matilde spends her time rock climbing, ski touring, traveling, and taking countless photos along the way, as one of her passions is also photography. Prior to moving to Canada, Matilde spent eleven years as a volunteer with the mountain search and rescue group CNSAS out of Pieve di Cadore, Italy.
A variation of karst sinkhole grouting is the grouting of mined coal seams and workings located below existing infrastructure that exhibit the potential to propagate to the surface and cause sinkholes and/or subsidence.
