Derrick brings over ten years of geotechnical engineering experience across a broad range of geotechnical topics. His design skill set ranges from slope stabilization, deep foundations, seismic site response, lightweight fills, to pavements. Derrick’s professional experience includes task leads for projects such as the I-5: Columbia River Crossing Bridge, Oregon DOT bridge seismic retrofit program, and numerous water/wastewater and transportation related projects. Derrick is a registered civil and geotechnical engineer in the State of Oregon and holds an MS and BS in civil engineering from Oregon State University. He enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, and trying to recapture his youth with mixed martial arts.
A variation of karst sinkhole grouting is the grouting of mined coal seams and workings located below existing infrastructure that exhibit the potential to propagate to the surface and cause sinkholes and/or subsidence.
